The soldiers and their relatives wrote letters and postcards. Approximately four billion letters were sent. The postcards were often produced as propaganda and the soldier could write in the back. All letters and cards had to read and approved by the censorship office. They could not write any information about the place where the troops were displayed they could not write bad news about how soldiers and civilians lived because they could demoralize the fighting or aggressive spirit. |
